Welcome To Pixel Champ! (November 9, 2005)
I'd like to welcome you to Pixel Champ, where the goal is to sell enough pixels to sponsor a Champ Car for 1-2 races during the 2006 season.
Now, you might be wondering why I'd choose to do something like this. Well, I've been a fan of American open-wheel since the late 1980's. When I say American open-wheel, I do not mean the IRL. Tony George had to just go and ruin American open-wheel to feed his own ego. Instead, I prefer the Champ Car World Series, which features some of the best drivers from around the world competing at a variety of ovals, road courses, and city streets. It's truly a diverse series -- much more diverse than NASCAR or Formula 1.
The goal is to raise enough money to sponsor a car for at least one race during next season. Right now, I'm undecided as to who I'll sponsor, or what race we'll do. I'd like to do Houston, as that's the closest race to myself. However, I'd also like to do a race that's televised on network TV. Right now, I'd like to do Long Beach and Houston; however, that depends on how quickly we raise the necessary dollars. That's where I need your assistance to advertise on the site.
Of course, we'll also be donating money to charity. Right now, some charities I'm considering include the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps and the Greg Moore Foundation. Of course, I'm also considering the American Red Cross. Being from the New Orleans area, I've seen how much damage Hurricane Katrina caused. I hope to decide on the philanthropy in the near future as well.
I hope to update the news every week. This way, I can give you updates on our monetary success, as well as our sponsorship endeavors. So please keep in touch! If you have any questions, just contact me.
